The ACUSD/ACOE Community Newsletter is a weekly communication from the Amador County Unified School District and Amador County Office of Education. The purpose of this newsletter is to keep our families, staff, and community members informed about our district!

Questions, comments, or concerns? Please feel free to leave a comment below and we will get back to you within working hours. All comments are private and can only be seen by the Communications Specialist.

District News & Announcements

No School Monday, April 28

Monday, April 28, 2025, is a non-school day because it is an unused emergency closure day. All schools will be closed on this day.

Please note that Wednesday, April 30, 2025, will be a regular school day. There will be no early release on that day.

Volunteer Cut-Off Date

The cut-off date for volunteer applications for the 2024-2025 school year is Friday, May 2nd. If you are a family member or guardian of a current student and would like to volunteer at an upcoming event or field trip before the end of the school year, please be sure to turn in your volunteer application to your school site by Friday, May 2nd. Applications received after May 2nd will not be processed in time for the end of the current school year.
 

News From the Community

A colorful poster announces the 27th Annual Celebrate Our Children Festival, featuring activities like a bike rodeo, face painting, and a reptile exhibit. The event is free and takes place on Saturday, April 26th from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Argonaut High School in Jackson.

Free QPR Training for Suicide Prevention

Attached to this newsletter are informational flyers about water safety from our friends at Amador County Public Health! As the weather warms up, now is a great time to go over water safety tips with your family.

School Board Updates

The next School Board meeting will take place on May 7, 2025, at the Amador County Administration Center located at 810 Court St. Jackson, CA 95642. Open Session begins at 6:30 p.m.

 

Celebrations

Concert Band College Visit

The Amador & Argonaut Band attended the University of the Pacific's Lab Ensemble and San Joaquin Professional Development Day with teacher Sophia Rechel! The concert band worked with several talented up-and-coming music educators, received invaluable real-time feedback from high school music educators, and engaged in sectional sessions with esteemed faculty and professors.

Colorful Day at Plymouth El

Plymouth Elementary students had a blast at the Color Fun Run on Friday, April 11! Students ran laps and got more and more colorful, thanks to volunteers and teachers who hit them with blasts of color as they passed.

Amador High School Challenge Coins

At the April 17 board meeting, Amador High School Principal Kaleb Cagle awarded five of his staff members with ACUSD Challenge Coins. He recognized Stephanie Bramer, Jeremiah Cloud, Clare Condon, Nancy Sanchez Lemus, and Gabriela Lopez Prudente.

Celebrating Argonaut's Top Students

Argonaut held their annual Top Ten Breakfast last Thursday to recognize the top ten students from each graduating class! The students shown here are the top students from the senior class. Congratulations to all of the students who were recognized for their hard work!
