The ACUSD/ACOE Community Newsletter is a weekly communication from the Amador County Unified School District and Amador County Office of Education. The purpose of this newsletter is to keep our families, staff, and community members informed about our district!

Save the Date - Kindergarten & TK Enrollment!

Save the date - online enrollment for kindergarten and transitional kindergarten (TK) opens on Tuesday, February 3!

If you want your child to attend an ACUSD elementary school for the 2026-2027 school year, you must enroll your child online through the Aeries platform.
Here is what you'll need to do:
1. Find out which school your child will attend based on your home address, using our address lookup tool.
2. Go to the online enrollment portal and follow the steps listed.
3. If you have any questions, please contact our Child Development department at (209) 257-5338
 

News From the Community

High School Poster Contest

The Substance Solutions for Amador Youth (SSAY) Coalition is having its 2nd annual High School Poster Contest!
The poster theme is "Benefits of Abstaining from or Quitting Marijuana and Alcohol." There are $1,000 in cash prizes available!
The deadline to submit artwork is February 24, 2026. Enter through the SSAY Coalition website.

School Board Updates

The next School Board meeting will take place on February 4, 2026, at the Amador County Administration Center located at 810 Court St. Jackson, CA 95642. 

ACOE Open Session will begin at 5:30 pm.
ACUSD Open Session will begin at 7:00 pm.

A group of people, including adults and children, are gathered together indoors.

Workability and Preschool Students Partner for Community Service

Last month, our Workability students helped our Little Mustangs preschoolers make birthday cake kits. They ended up making about 30 kits to donate to the food bank!

American Legion Donates New Flag

Thank you to the American Legion for presenting a new flag for Mrs. Braun's class at Pine Grove Elementary! Two students in Mrs. Braun's class raise and lower the flag every day, so they will put the new flag to good use.

Health & Medical Terminology Students Begin Externships

Last Friday, two groups of students from Amador and Argonaut's Health & Medical Terminology classes started their Spring externships at Sutter Amador Hospital!
These students will also spend their externships at Jackson Medical Center, Amador Physical Therapy, and Jackson Creek Dental. Their teacher, Katie Varni, cheerfully sent off both groups of students on their new adventure.
